About
I have been in law enforcement for 11 years working in multiple areas. I started off my career in State Corrections facility for about a year. At the same time I was a Reserve Deputy for a county sheriff’s department. I was recruited to be a full time sworn deputy working in detentions. While employed as a Deputy I was assigned to patrol, detentions, detentions training officer, inmate classification, background investigation, and cadet advisor.
After leaving the sheriff’s department, I was recruited by the Director County Department of Transportation, Public Works section. I trained as a Right of Way inspector prior to being tasked with developing and running the 811 program for the county. This included creating policies and procedures, equipment management, hiring, training and supervision of personnel, and creating programs for increasing efficiency among the departments.
Not wanting to leave Law Enforcement I was hired as a Reserve Officer with a small police department. After leaving the Department of Transportation, I became a part time police officer and eventually returned to full time. My primary assignment is in Special Operations as our department’s mental health co-responder. My secondary duties include; Field Training Officer and Program coordinator, Traffic Safety and enforcement program manager, NIBRS and Citizen contact compliance officer and Policy Manager.
I am very passionate about my profession and entered this field hoping to make a difference in my community. I love teaching and strive to inspire others around me. I truly believe in the team modality and try to lead by the First in Last out mentality. Dependability, Determination and forward thinking are how I define my strengths. While I don’t believe in “weaknesses”, I am constantly working on focusing my Ingenuity and Enthusiasm into obtainable goals.
